It’s great to have a floor covering which looks and feels like carpet but is much less susceptible to dirt and spills. This is the reason why so many homeowners and businesses opt for Flotex. While it requires very little care, it is still not completely maintenance-free. Learn about the main Flotex cleaning techniques and how they should be used correctly.

The Right Vacuuming Technique

It is best to vacuum this type of floor covering at least once a week and possibly more often, especially if you have small children and/or pets. Use the carpet attachment and adjust it to the lowest setting, so that the debris stuck at the bottom of the pile could be picked up. You should not worry about damaging the fibres as they are made of nylon. In fact, this is the reason why this type of floor covering doesn’t collect too much dust and dirt over time.

Before you begin the actual Flotex cleaning, you may want to clean the area with a rubber brush, if you have a pet, to ensure that the fine hairs will be removed or at least come up to the surface where the vacuum could easily pick them up. You should push the vacuum cleaner forward at top speed and backwards at half speed. This will give you not only cleanliness but also the more intense colour and fluff which are characteristic for the floor covering.

Dealing with Food Spills

These are quite common and extremely annoying too, but there is a Flotex cleaning technique which you can use to get rid of them quickly and effectively. The key thing is to act immediately. Grab a spoon and scoop as much of the food as possible, going from the outside in to ensure that you won’t spread the spill. Then you should dissolve liquid detergent or carpet shampoo into hot water and scrub the area with a soft-bristled brush. If you decided to use detergent, you should dissolve one teaspoon in five litres of water. Remember to rinse the area with plain water and to pat it dry, using a microfiber cloth.[/su_list]

Removing Liquid Spills

Use kitchen paper towel or a white cotton cloth to blot the stain. The white colour is crucial as otherwise, you risk colour transfer from the paper towel or cloth to the carpet. When blotting the spill, pat gently instead of pushing hard or the liquid will go further down the pile. If any of the liquid still remains, you can use the Flotex cleaning technique with the application of a solution described above.

Regular Professional Cleaning

Even with diligent maintenance, it’s possible that some dust and dirt still lurks in the floor covering. Additionally, if you are not there to act quickly in case of spills, you could end up with stubborn stains. Pet stains are also extremely difficult to get rid of permanently with DIY techniques.

The solution to all of these issues is to use a professional Flotex cleaning service in North Yorkshire. The specialists of Highfield TS apply a hot-water extraction technique using advanced equipment and top-quality materials to produce top results.

Having received either no response or a very unhelpful response from a few other firms, I contacted Paul during the New Year to carry out some urgent carpet cleaning I required. He responded instantly in a very positive manner and offered to carry out the work on a bank holiday. Paul proceeded to carry out a speedy, professional and truly amazing job - the floors were unrecognisable afterwards - and I cannot recommend his friendly 'can do' attitude highly enough.

Paul did a great job steam cleaning all the stone floors in our holiday cottages and then put a sealer on top.

This is the second time we have used the carpet cleaning service of Paul, and again he turned up exactly on time and carried out the cleaning with the expected professionalism required. Our carpets are now like new and at such reasonable rates too. We will happily continue to not only use Paul but recommend him to others too.
